Regents approve initial room and board hike

Room and Board rates at Iowa's three public universities are one step closer to going up. The Board of Regents at it's meeting this week gave initial approval to a proposal raising the rates of the school's most common plans. Iowa State University's increase would be the most at 1.9 percent followed by the University of Northern Iowa at 1.8 percent and the University of Iowa at 0.5 percent. The board will discuss the rate increases for the final time in April.
