House committee advances voter ID bill

An Iowa House subcommittee is moving forward with a measure requiring all iowans to show an ID before voting. The measure spearheaded by Secretary of State Paul Pate now goes to a full House committee after advancing Monday. The plan calls for voters to show either a driver's license, military ID, or passport in order to vote. A free ID would be issued to any voter who doesn't currently have one.
