Governor Branstad predicts his Senate confirmation hearing to be President Trump's ambassador to China will come soon. Branstad says he spent some time at the state department while in Washington last month for the National Governors Association conference and was told the hearing might be around the first week in April. Branstad says if he's confirmed, he'd resign from his governor job and be sworn in as ambassador, and Lieutenant Governor Kim Reynolds would be Iowa's new governor.
