Voter ID bill moves to Iowa Senate

A bill requiring Iowans to show a government-issued photo ID in order to vote is moving to the Senate.  The House Thursday approved the measure spearheaded by Secretary of State Paul Pate.  Iowans would have to show either a driver's license, military ID, or passport in order to vote.  A free ID would be issued to any voter who doesn't currently have one.
