Story County's election commissioner is echoing the criticism of a voter ID bill passed by the Iowa Senate. Auditor Lucy Martin says Secretary of State Paul Pate's Election Integrity Bill is a solution in search of a problem, pointing out identifications are verified before voters step into their polling places. She says she's also troubled the bill pushes voter verification responsibilities to poll workers, many of whom are elderly. Martin says the bill is "security theater" that gives voters the perception an already-secure system is safer.
