Ames schools administrators are staying in the district to fill an elementary school principal vacancy. Superintendent Tim Taylor will recommend the school board appoint Brandon Schrauth as the next principal of Fellows elementary. Schrauth is the principal at Northwood Preschool Center. Prior to coming to Ames, Schrauth was an instructional coach at an elementary in Johnston after spending 11 years as a kindergarten through second grade teacher. Schrauth has masters degrees in curriculum and instruction and educational leadership from Iowa State. If approved by the school board on Monday, Schrauth will replace interim principal Anthony Jones, who took over in January after former principal Carol Page left the district.
