An Ames woman faces animal neglect charges in the death of her dog. Sarah McMenamin reportedly tried to perform surgery on her pet at her home. Police say veterinary staff at Iowa State University told her the dog had a blockage that required surgery. McMenamin told police she tried the surgery herself because she couldn't afford have it done. She's due in court to face charges this week.
