I spent yesterday morning at the Story County 4H Fair in Nevada and was served a large slice of "Humble Pie". Every year I am amazed at the energy and dedication of the 4H youth to continue in the occupations of agriculture. Not all will stay on the farm but will continue in some form of agri-business. The lessons learned by working shoulder to shoulder with mom,dad and other siblings to keep things afloat in this proud but challenging career certainly develops character and dedication most young people are not privy to. I firmly believe if more of us were exposed to life on the farm our appreciation would increase 10 fold. Thanks to the 4H youth of Story County for sharing with me the culmination of this years projects, it is deeply appreciated.
