Carmakers eye Iowa for new plant

The announcement by two Japanese automakers that they will build a new production plant in the US has eleven states ready to celebrate.  Only one state will be chosen as the site for the new plant which will be operated by Toyota and Mazda. Friday's announcement comes with the promise of several thousand jobs.  Toyota will produce Corollas and Mazda will build new crossovers SUVs.  In addition to Iowa, the "Wall Street Journal" says Illinois, Indiana and Michigan are in contention for the plant as are Alabama, Florida, Kentucky, Mississippi, North Carolina, South Carolina and Texas.
