The Red Cross of Iowa has increased the number of volunteers deployed to Texas and Lousiana, sending 45 as of Thursday. Dozens more will be headed south in the coming weeks. All six emergency response vehicles in Iowa have also been deployed and Iowa Red Cross workers are helping other regions deploy their ERVs. The Red Cross is preparing to shelter 50,000 people in the next few weeks.
