Iowa's first medical marijuana manufacturer is set to start doing business. The Iowa Department of Public Health announced Tuesday that Medpharm Iowa is set to get a manufacturing license. The Des Moines-based company was recently formed by Chris Nelson, the president of food ingredient maker Kemin Industries. Nelson says scientific research and innovation will drive Medpharm's task. The compnany's cannabis products must be distributed by December 1st, 2018.
