Budget cuts likely next year

A similar budget situation will likely present itself to Iowa lawmakers when they go back into session next month.  The Revenue Estimating Conference met Monday and said lawmakers will likely be asked to cut up to $90 million from the state budget. That covers money set to be spent in the current fiscal year, but a ray of hope did come out of the meeting.  Revenues are expected to grow by four percent for the fiscal year that begins next July.
