Democrat Sioux City state representative Chris Hall is taking legal action against Governor Reynolds for her handling of the state's economic emergency fund. Hall filed the suit this week in Polk County District Court against Reynolds and budget director David Roederer. The suit alleges the governor illegally transferred $13 million from the economic emergency fund in September to avoid a special legislative session to balance the budget. In a statement, the Republican Party of Iowa called Hall a "hypocrite" for his suit. The party also says the lawsuit is a "political stunt."
