A busy night for Ames City Council

A full agenda awaits the Ames City Council Tuesday. Mayor John Haila says the council will consider a moratorium on development in the downtown gateway area, along Lincoln Way bewteen Clark and Kellogg avenues. He says it'll give staff and property owners time to work out specifics of a redevlopment plan.  Haila says the council will also get its first look at changes to the Rental Housing Code following hours of recent public workshop sessions. He says the council will also look at preliminary construction plans for a Menard's on SE 16th St. and hear from the Ames Convention and Visitors Bureau about RAGBRAI's overnight stop in Ames this summer.
