City Council to take more rental cap input

The Ames City Council breaks protocol at its meeting Tuesday. Mayor John Haila says the council will make the rare offer for public input as it considers the second reading of an ordinance establishing a 25 percent rental occupancy limit in neighborhoods close to the ISU campus. He says the council is looking for input, specifically, from people who haven't spoken before on the issue. Two April meetings dealing with the occupancy cap each included three hours of public testimony. Tuesday night's meeting in City Hall starts at 6:00.
