Two new electric car-charging stations are now available in downtown Ames. The city says although the locations, on Carroll Ave. by Bandshell Park and in the parking lot on the west side of City Hall were selected to charge two new city vehicles, the stations are also available for public use. The rate is $2 per hour, but is discounted to $1 for Ames residents.
