Fake Reality

I don't know if it's my television production background, or my low gullibility rating that makes me laugh more at the suggestion that any reality program is real. You needn't look to far to see the lack of continuity and the need for several production personnel to be involved in every setting. To see any portion of the program shot from several angles to represent a spontaneous action requires several cameras or shooting the scene over and over. The only thing real (poorly done) is getting the subjects to deliver their lines with any emotion tied. It makes me wonder how many true believers are watching and hanging on every moment, too many and that truly frightens me. It takes so little to keep us entertained and in some ways it's therapeutic.
