I'm a native of Maplewood, Minnesota, a suburb of St. Paul. It was there that I was inflicted with the curse of being a Minnesota Vikings fan. There is still no known cure, though many times I wish there was. I'm also an avid follower of the Minnesota Twins and of course, the Iowa State Cyclones.
I’m not the kind of guy who wants to admit he watches NASCAR races for the crashes but…yeah. I’m that guy. I don’t really much care about the sport that much but some of the action at Talladega yesterday caught my eye. And by “action”, I mean sweet crashes. One of the two noteworthy came early in the race and the other late. The first crash involved a whole lot of cars getting spun, which is always a good time. It also left a lot of cars with black bonding tape, leaving my imagination to conclude that the tape was the only thing holding the cars together. Adds to the drama. The second, late crash was even cooler, mostly because one care flipped over and landed on another car. (By the way, don’t ask me who was driving those cars. I don’t know and I don’t care.) Sweet flips and two cars riding piggyback? Yeah, count me in. The only drawback was the eternally long rain delay between the two crashes. It was worth the wait, though.
