The Ames High baseball team was swept in thier final home doubleheader of the season Monday night. The Little Cyclones lost to 10th-ranked Southeast Polk by scores of 13-4 and 7-2. Tthe Rams were paced by Zack Little's R RBIs in game 1, including a 3-run home run in the first inning. Brock Daniels cracked a 2-run bomb and Phillip Velez drove in 3 on a double. In the nightcap, Ames tied the game in the 2nd inning thanks to Sam Straub's 2-run homer but Southeast Polk would score single runs in each of the 4th and 6th innings then salt the game away with a 3-run 7th, highlighted by Velez's 2-run single. Ames wraps up the regular season with a doubleheader at Des Moines Lincoln Tuesday afternoon.
