After graduation life became an adventure, including some college, lots of travel and just learning to enjoy life. My education has been diversified to say the least attending several colleges and universities a few courses at a time and ending my formal education at Iowa State.
My occupations have been many, with the last 35 years spent in broadcasting
in one form or another. I have many things I love, my wife Chris, my daughter
Paula and my son Shad. I love also love Ames and Iowa. What I am and what I will
be is always grateful to the people and things that have surrounded my life in
this great part of the country we live in. The are a lot of things I've left out
but I'm sure we'll share more as you continue to visit this site.
All of our hearts break and we are personally affronted when incidents like that which happened in Boston take place, we should be. Unfortunately these horrific events are taking place all to often and as we have learned can happen anytime anywhere. This also reminds me that there are people waking up across the world that expect something like this to happen everyday, it is not exclusive to us. The worst we can do is hide in a shell, for those entities who use terrorism will have then accomplished their goal of disrupting our lives. We need to be on high alert everyday, to be vigilant and report the unusual, an unattended parcel, book bag or other out of place object. We need not take this to paranoia and I do not intend this to be a harbinger of doom. Just a reminder that the world is a changing place and a little caution could save lives.
