After graduation life became an adventure, including some college, lots of travel and just learning to enjoy life. My education has been diversified to say the least attending several colleges and universities a few courses at a time and ending my formal education at Iowa State.
My occupations have been many, with the last 35 years spent in broadcasting
in one form or another. I have many things I love, my wife Chris, my daughter
Paula and my son Shad. I love also love Ames and Iowa. What I am and what I will
be is always grateful to the people and things that have surrounded my life in
this great part of the country we live in. The are a lot of things I've left out
but I'm sure we'll share more as you continue to visit this site.
OK, I'm done waiting for perfect weather to do my fishing, my son and I have been trying to coordinate our schedules to get a line in the water and it's been difficult to say the least. Yesterday we decided that today is the day rain or shine, of course it was raining when I got up. No matter we're on our way hell or high water and even if we don't catch a thing we'll have time together. Don't expect a reality show around it like "DEADLIEST CATCH" but then again 'Mel and Shad's Fishing Mania" does have the ring of slight adventure.
