After graduation life became an adventure, including some college, lots of travel and just learning to enjoy life. My education has been diversified to say the least attending several colleges and universities a few courses at a time and ending my formal education at Iowa State.
My occupations have been many, with the last 35 years spent in broadcasting
in one form or another. I have many things I love, my wife Chris, my daughter
Paula and my son Shad. I love also love Ames and Iowa. What I am and what I will
be is always grateful to the people and things that have surrounded my life in
this great part of the country we live in. The are a lot of things I've left out
but I'm sure we'll share more as you continue to visit this site.
I was just sitting here this morning editing the Ames Municipal Band Concert for replay on Sunday Morning at 9am when I caught myself foot tapping and smiling. These are not normal for me at 5:30 in the morning but the inspiration to do so was filling my ears, a good old fashioned, down home, band concert in the park. I don't often get the opportunity to be at bandshell for these concerts because of other commitments but am fortunate enough to get a second chance when I edit them. With that in mind I just want to thank all those involved with putting them on and let them know how much I appreciate their efforts. If you have not gone let me encourage you to enjoy a piece of history and americana right here in L.A. "Lovely Ames" at Bandshell park on Thursday evenings at 8pm.
